TRANSFORMATION POLICY

Is’khumba Senyathi Protection Services is a truly African company, embracing African values and the vision of a growing, prosperous, and safe South Africa. The company values integrity, fairness, good service, and opportunities for all who are prepared to work towards this common vision.

The name “skin of the buffalo” derived from a nickname given to one of the management team for his role in providing strength and development opportunities within the transformation process, notably as a key member of the team which launched Isolezwe, South Africa’s first daily Zulu newspaper.

Is’khumba Senyathi Protection Services, along with its two sister companies, Ibululu Management Consultants and Muphe Consulting, have been involved in creating education and transformation opportunities for many years.

Sister company Ibululu Management Consultants is involved with the Y Academy (*), which is the most ambitious training and development programme ever put together by any media house, in South Africa. It is an intensive six-month programme that drops new journalist recruits into the heart of the YFM radio operation, a Johannesburg-based radio station which reaches 1.4 million listeners a day. The interns learn how to produce, how to conduct an interview, how to write a news bulletin, how to feed music into YFM’s digital library and how to catalogue that music, how to produce promotional clips, how to market events, how to sell advertisements, how to know what is and is not allowed on air, and finally, to get behind the mike and show what they are made of.

Another sister company, Muphe Consulting, focuses on the building and sharing of knowledge, strategy, and communications and provides a training and development service.
